My wife and I recently bought a home in the area and have been buying thousands of dollars worth of appliances and building supplies for a remodel. My wife and I went in today to buy over $1000 worth of backsplash/stone ledger. We had found a competitor that was slightly less per sqft and requested a price match. The person called his manager, who refused to honor the price match, because 'the competitor was selling them per sqft and we wanted to order three pallets of the material". That logic didn't make much sense to me or my wife. We were buying in bulk and the competitors price was valid for one piece or a thousand. We asked the associate to have the store manager come out to discuss the issue. He called the store manager who informed us that he wasn't coming out and whatever the other person said was final. I was very frustrated that the manager couldn't even have the courtesy to come and talk to what had been very loyal customers of his store. I got up to walk out and told the associate that it wasn't his fault, but I will be taking my business elsewhere. As we were walking out my wife said she wanted to try and talk to the manager regarding this issue, since he hadn't heard us out, at all. She went to the customer service desk, requested to talk to the store manager. They rang him up and he asked if it was about an issue with tile. When the associate said it was, he refused to come out again. The associate profusely apologized, but I left that store, never to return again. We also own a business and easily spend $20,000-30,000 a year in materials and goods from hardware stores. This store and for now the rest of Home Depot is off limits for purchases, home or business.
This store used to be a lot better than it is now, I would gladly drive across town to get material I needed because the service was so much better than at Lowe’s, now most of the employees avoid helping anyone just as much as at Lowe’s. I stood next to two employees in the plumbing isle waiting for them to stop talking about how one of them finally got off pain meds for almost 10 minutes, when they finished talking they both turned and walked away before I could even ask for help. I would suggest knowing what you need and where it is before you go to Home Depot
One of the nicer Home Depots I've been to. The store is very veteran friendly, even putting special parking spots in the lot. The staff are usually really helpful and will inquire further if they don't know something. I've had to return a few things that were the wrong size and they were also really nice about that. With a convenient location and the VIP treatment for vets, they've become my go to for most everything.
All I wanted was to buy some blinds.. you would think such a large corporation would be able to hire competent employees but all three employees I was able to chase down simply told me they were too busy and told me to find someone else...I ended up just leaving empty handed . The store is a mess and shopping carts litter the parking lot. The funny thing is , I just saw a commercial for The Home Depot and it portrayed their employees as helpful knowledgeable people.. WHAT A JOKE.

Home Depot refused to honor it's price match guarantee for .50 less per sqft for the material and management compounded the issue by not even having the courtesy to show their faces or discuss the issue directly over the phone. They just hung their associates out there to deal with. I spent a number of years working retail and I would have been fired if I ever did anything like this to a customer. Management needs to learn some basic respect and courtesy.
